AEO for service pages: replace vague claims with useful answers

Neaptide · September 7, 2026 · 5 min read

A practical service-page rewrite: scope, evidence, limitations and the next step. Includes a fictional before-and-after example, without citation promises.

On this page
A service page shaped like an open doorway, with a key and a speech bubble.

A service page should help a buyer decide whether the offer fits. “End-to-end solutions for every challenge” provides little to compare. Start AEO content work with the questions the page leaves unanswered, rather than adding more references to AI search.

Get the facts before rewriting

Choose one service you currently provide and collect recent customer questions, removing personal details. Ask the people who do the work to confirm the result, what the customer must supply, what the price includes and what requires a separate estimate.

Do not turn missing information into plausible promises. If timing depends on access or data quality, explain that dependency. If pricing is bespoke, describe the information needed for an estimate and what the quote will cover.

A fictional form-to-CRM service

This is a fictional editing exercise, not a Neaptide service package. Suppose the provider has agreed to connect two forms to one CRM, document which form fields go into which CRM fields and test repeat delivery. The description can now state those specific commitments.

Fictional service: before and after
BeforeAfter checking the facts
“Any integration, end to end”Connect two forms to one CRM, document field mapping and test delivery.
“Fast and affordable”Estimate the work after reviewing the forms, fields and access requirements.
“Guaranteed quality”Test a normal submission, a retry and recovery from a temporary outage.
“Get in touch”Send links to your forms and an example of the CRM record you need.
Vague claims compared with verified scope for a fictional service.
Teaching example: the provider must confirm every added condition.

Put evidence beside the claim

Show a field-mapping example with personal data removed, a checklist for testing the finished integration or a relevant case study. A customer logo does not explain what was done. If you have no case study, a clearly labelled teaching example can explain the method.

Use headings that help readers find scope, exclusions, acceptance and pricing. Not every paragraph needs a question heading. Match the format to the information: a table for inclusions, steps for a sequence, prose for a decision.

Check the whole page

Read the whole page, then review the opening, table and captions separately. Each should make the relevant service and conditions clear. Check that the headline is supported by the details and the button explains the next action, such as sending forms for an estimate.

Google requires no special AEO markup for AI Overviews or AI Mode. Structured data should match visible content. That is Google’s guidance, not proof that every AI system behaves alike.

Check what changed after the rewrite

Keep the original page and change date. First check whether buyers can find the missing information. Then assess search visits, AI answers and enquiries separately under comparable conditions. Clearer copy alone does not demonstrate more citations.

To discuss a Neaptide content project, send the service URL and its actual delivery conditions. That provides a concrete basis for deciding which answers and evidence need work.

faq

The short version

Must the page show a fixed price?

Only if one exists. Otherwise explain the cost drivers, quote scope and required inputs. Do not present an illustrative number as a real rate.

Is a FAQ mandatory?

No. Use it for useful remaining questions, not to repeat the entire page.

Will the rewrite guarantee AI citations?

No. It improves clarity and verifiability; visibility in each system must be measured separately.
